Wedding Wednesday :: Amora Group

It’s #WeddingWednesday! This week, we’re talking about design beyond the blooms! We know you’ve been dreaming of your wedding florals since, well, let’s face it…forever.  But did you ever think of the other décor and design elements that could take your affair from average to extravagant?  Adding different décor elements such as textured lighting, pin spot lighting, chandeliers, floating candle packages, lounge sets, backdrops and fabric draping can transform the overall look and feel of your wedding into something exceptional.

One way brides and grooms are keeping it fresh is with creative seating arrangements and dinner service styles.  How many times have you walked into a ballroom full of all roundtables, endlessly looking for your table number in a sea of banquet tables? Try mixing table shapes and textures (YES, TEXTURES)! Incorporate guest tables with different shapes, a variety of round tables with unique linens and wooden tables with benches! Changing up the geometric element of the tables will provide variety!  Don’t be afraid to be different? If your guest count and room dimensions allow, do a double sided horseshoe shaped seating design and have your first dance during dinner right in the center!  One step further? Ask your caterer about family style dining or action station dining where guests are encouraged to interact with one another! What else do we love to incorporate with our reception designs? Lounges! These sets provide a stylish and comfortable area where guests can relax and enjoy the event while still being a part of the reception.

This week, we turn our attention to our fantastic event designers at the Amora Group! This Denver-based event design firm specializes in custom events for all of their clients! Custom built dessert wall?  No problem!  Elegant lighting? You got it.  This crew can transform any event space into the most elegant experience. But first, who are these talented individuals?!

“We specialize in event design that is both creative and innovative, layering our designs with decór, audio visual, and lighting. We strive to create a fun and productive atmosphere for our clients as well as our employees, drawing inspiration from our love of traveling all over the world and in our own backyard.”

The Amora Group recently collaborated with our friends at Total Imagination Events to create a one-of-a-kind design for an amazing couple! We’re still mesmerized with this over the top custom lounge vignette layered with textured lighting, teardrop chandeliers in a waterfall formation, and elegant backdrop accented with a floating candle package and floral décor from Emma Lea Floral!

What is pin-spot lighting? We’re so glad you asked!  See how this tall floral display appears perfectly lighted despite the room?  Pin spot lighting (or lighting of specific elements such as floral centerpieces, cakes or custom dessert tables) from above keeps the stunningly crafted décor element front and center while the room is dimmed to create ambiance!

Textured lighting as seen washing over this dance floor fills the otherwise empty space with romantic lighting and ambiance!  And, it’s not just for the floors- textured lighting can be added to lounge sets, draping, or walls and brings an extra “joie de vivre” to your special day.

Come play with the folks at the Amora Group and allow them to create a custom décor package that will lift your wedding to new heights!

Wedding Wednesday :: Brothers BBQ

Happy #WeddingWednesday! Summer season is in full swing! What does that mean in the wedding industry?! Outdoor receptions and rehearsal dinners! What better time than this to introduce you to our newest member to our StudioWed Denver family…Brothers BBQ.

Brothers BBQ is THE go-to caterer for the couple who is looking for incredible food for their wedding and rehearsal dinner catering. If you’re looking for some diversion from the same old sit-down rehearsal dinner, why not do an afternoon barbecue at the park? Bring lawn games (or better yet, rent them to be delivered & set up so you don’t have to ;-), and spend a relaxing and casual afternoon in the park with friends and family before your big day!

Traveling the United States as a professional race car driver, Nick, who was often accompanied by older brother Chris, would stop at every BBQ joint along the way. The two of them soon became hooked on the local BBQ styles and cultures that they experienced on their travels, they returned to their favorite place – Colorado – and became masters at their craft.  18 years later, Brothers has an impeccable reputation for amazing food and fantastic service.

From the bridal shower to the rehearsal dinner to the reception, you can count on Brothers BBQ to please your guests and ensure your event is a smashing success!

Wedding Wednesday :: Total Imagination Events

Why hire a wedding planner?  The question is, why wouldn’t you? Your wedding day should be as glamorous as you so why take on more stress than necessary?? Hiring a wedding planner will not only take away the pressure of planning but they will be your biggest advocate, cheerleader, and storyteller!

Meet Elizabeth Restauri, owner, chief imaginer, celebrationist & designer with Total Imagination Events. We asked Elizabeth what makes her work stand out and here’s what she had to say!

“I love falling in love with my client’s story.  It’s an incredibly intimate experience, getting to know their families, their interests, and their relationship and to design the details of their day around their style and story.  Sure, the planning and logistics keep my clients stress level to a minimum, but, the fun part is bringing their passion to personification.  For example, we had a couple last year who both LOVED cocktails – she was a wine and spirits representative, so it had been part of her life since she was a young adult.  We created a specialty cocktail list with a selection from each place that was important to their relationship – a Rum Runner for the Caribbean Island where they first met, a French 75 for the city of Paris where they got engaged, a barrel aged Manhattan to represent where the groom grew up and lived most of his adult life and a Colorado Mule to pay homage to the bride’s life-long home.  We finished the styling of their cocktail menu with custom designed menus by Sweet Zion Paperie including the story of the drink selection which were placed on the bar and at each of the guest tables.  For another bride who had recently lost her father, we wanted to find a way to have her dad with her while she walked down the aisle.  We asked if her mom still had any of her dad’s neck ties – luckily, she did, so we selected a neck tie that complimented the color pallet and gave it to the florist to wrap her bridal bouquet.  While he couldn’t be there, the bride still felt like her dad was in some small way, walking her down the aisle and holding her hand, all at the same time.  We finished the bouquet with a photo of her mom & dad on their wedding day. It’s extremely important to me to get to know my clients and to ensure that at every turn, they are surrounded by details that celebrate the essence of who they both are in every way possible!”
