Sugar Cloud started in 2008 when Serena, a traditionally trained baker decided to turn her love of baking and art into a career. Serena began baking from an early age and has since dedicated many years in order to achieve exceptionally delectable baked goods. Serena is a single mother of two, and a WNC local from childhood.
“I know that when I create a cake, I am creating something much more. Wedding and event cakes are centerpiece at the wedding reception. They are permanently affixed to our memories when we look back on our wedding photos. Cakes are much more than desserts to me. It is an art form and a way of life. The art for me begins not only with a sketch of the cake design, but also with the ingredients. I use only the best ingredients for each cake, such as pure vanilla bean, high quality chocolate, and only real butter. Most of my recipes are my own, that I have personally developed over time. A cake should not only look amazing, but taste amazing as well.
A bride’s cake is the most important cake of her life. I pour a lot of energy into each cake design. I truly do my best to recreate what the client’s vision is.
Bringing joy to my clients is the greatest reward. Every new creation is a one of a kind, and I encourage my clients to explore designs and flavors that are both imaginative and personal to them.
The most wonderful feeling in the world is knowing that I play a small part in making a wedding day magical. “
