What’s a wedding without the newlyweds cutting into a cake? Don’t let the summer heat melt your pretty cake into a gooey mess before it is time to dig in! Wedding professionals, A Pinch Bakery, recommend using butter cream icing which typically stays more stabilized in the heat. Or, using your choice of icing but always keeping your cake in a shaded, cool area or having an air conditioned tent. They also advise waiting to bring the cakes out right before it’s time to cut. Additionally, confirm with your venue that there is a refrigerator to preserve certain types of icing until the reception!
