It’s #WeddingWednesday! And we’re elated to share with you this gorgeous macramé cake designed by our sassy sugar superhero, Lisa Herrera of A Cake Come True! Check out this masterpiece which was recently published in American Cake Decorating Magazine in the “Fabulous Finishes and Textures” issue.  We caught up with the cake artist herself to find out about the inspiration behind this beautiful edible art!

“I was most inspired by the ever so trendy Macramé for the boho chic bride. It reminded me of my childhood growing up in the Philippines. We always had some kind of Macrame in the house.  The biggest challenge creating this cake was to try and make all the edible details look like real wool fabric. It was a real challenge to have it hang naturally without having everything fall. It also took an incredible amount of time to place each of the elements in place. I had to strategically place them in layers. But in the end of the process, I absolutely fell in love with this cake and I think we’ll be seeing the Macramé element in Boho Style Weddings stick around for quite a while!”

Congratulations to Lisa and A Cake Come True for the feature of this truly mouth-watering piece.
