Finally being able to change your name, could feel like the icing on the (wedding) cake! This is such a monumental occasion! This can also be very confusing\u2026that\u2019s where we come in!<\/p>\n

This blog will take you through the step-by-step process of how to change your name in the state of Tennessee. Whether you choose to add your new last name to your old last name, or if you choose to take your spouses last name all together, you\u2019ll know the in\u2019s and out\u2019s of changing your last name by the end of this blog!<\/p>\n

Step 1: You will need to get a \u201cPetition for Change of Name\u201d form, from your county clerk\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Fill out the form!<\/p>\n

Step 3: Take the form (completed) along with proof of your identity and residency to your county clerk\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Step 4: You will have to pay a \u2018filling fee\u2019 (these vary by county).<\/p>\n

Step 5: Apply for a brand new driver\u2019s license with your beautiful new last name, at your DMV.<\/p>\n

Step 6: Be sure to change your name of your accounts at your bank and anywhere else that is important (SS office, workplace, etc.).<\/p>\n

Step 7: Enjoy the married life!!! It\u2019s an excuse to get everything you see monogrammed with your new monogram! ;)<\/p>\n
