Dear Bride,<\/p>\n

OMG – It’s that time of the year!\u00a0 Engagement season is in full bloom and now it’s time to interview your prospective wedding vendors.\u00a0\u00a0Meeting\u00a0with a florist can be a daunting task.<\/p>\n

Fret no more, here are\u00a0fourteen<\/strong> pointers to relieve you from\u00a0a flower frenzy.<\/p>\n

Research – Do your own research.\u00a0 While many vendors have a referral list, it is important to do you own research and ask your own questions.<\/p>\n

Interview – Interview\u00a0at least 3\u00a0florist, even more than once if needed.<\/p>\n

Investment\u00a0– Cheaper doesn’t always mean better and the old saying goes, “You Get What You Pay For”.\u00a0 Your wedding is an investment!\u00a0 Side Note:\u00a0 You can always find someone else cheaper.\u00a0 Be up front and honest\u00a0about your floral budget and your expectations. Does your budget\u00a0coincide with your overall vision?<\/p>\n

Flexibility – If you have a specific budget that you would like your florist to meet, be flexible to their recommendations.<\/p>\n

Portfolio – Look at your\u00a0florist previous work.\u00a0 Does it all look the same?\u00a0 Does it inspire you?\u00a0 Does it make you say WOW? Does it look contrived, like the same ole “flowers stuck in a vase” without creativity or ingenuity.<\/p>\n

Creativity – Look for creativity and a detailed florist, creativity and details are the goddess of divine.\u00a0 Is your florist creative and innovative?\u00a0 Can he\/she create complex designs or create a custom design for your wedding or\u00a0does he\/she appear to be\u00a0a “copy cat” designer.<\/p>\n

Style – What type of florist are you seeking? Do you want traditional, contemporary, rustic, etc.\u00a0 Interview florist who seem to mesh with your style.\u00a0 advice<\/p>\n

Knowledge – Seek a florist who is knowledgeable and is competent in floristry.\u00a0 Is your florist aware of flowers, colors, seasons and how to properly nourish and condition flowers.<\/p>\n

Aesthetics\u00a0– Is your florist a visionary? Is she\/he competent in aesthetic appeal and the overall look of a design or does it look hodge podge?<\/p>\n

Quality – Does your florist design with Grade A flowers?\u00a0 Is your florist work of quality?\u00a0 Or does the previous work look cheap\/tacky\/lackluster? Flowers are sold generic just like other products.<\/p>\n

Trendy – Is your florist trendy, abreast of the wedding market styles and trends?<\/p>\n

Personality – Does your florist have personality that pops?\u00a0 Are they friendly and easy to\u00a0work with?<\/p>\n

Hire a florist – Are you hiring a professional or amateur?\u00a0 Ask for recommendations, qualifications, awards, recognitions, etc.<\/p>\n
