We are happy to welcome Rachael with Girls and Curls to the StudioWed family! Rachael took some time out of her wonderfully busy schedule to give us a little information about her and why she loves her job.

Here are some fun facts about Rachael:

• I am a Denver native.
• I hold a current Cosmetology license in Colorado (although I don’t cut/color anymore).
• I launched Girls and Curls in 2002 and still love working with brides…each one is so different and special to me.
• Girls and Curls is a Wedding Specialist.  Although we do all types of special event glamour and personal makeup/skincare education, hair and airbrush makeup artistry for weddings is our passion.
• My favorite season is Christmas so I married my high school sweetheart (yes, that is true!) on January 8th, 2000 so our decorations could be evergreens, plaid bows and white Christmas lights everywhere!
• I am an early bird…I typically sit in my car in front of my bride’s hotel (or house) for about an hour before we are scheduled to start.  I call myself a “wedding day stalker.” :)
• I always wear a ribbon in my hair, when it is in a pony tail.
• My favorite shoes are a pair of sparkly silver/white converse.
• The best thing about being a part of a bride’s wedding day is the bonding and the moments we share just prior to her walking down the aisle.  As the first vendor she interacts with on her wedding day, I get to set the tone for the rest of the day and it is so amazing to be allowed to share that intimate and special time with her and her bridesmaids.

Rachael’s Beauty Tip:  Having a healthy skin care routine is very important for a glowing bride on her wedding day.  Keep it simple and you’ll stick with it.

• I grew up in an international family, so our family reunions had many accents and languages spoken, and lots of wonderful food! And I picked up a travel bug that’s taken me all over the world.
• I have a beautiful baby girl with big cheeks and an even bigger smile named Camille. She and my husband Andy rock my world.

Boutique Cakes

Intricate Icings is excited to offer a new line of cakes… Boutique cakes are perfect for intimate gatherings and serve at least 15 people. They are smaller 6″x 6″ round versions of our high quality cakes featuring designs for all occasions. They are launching their new line with fall and winter designs, but soon they’ll have Boutique cakes for more traditional occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and showers.  You can find additional information on their blog. Boutique cakes must be ordered at least one week in advance and cost $125 each.

Winter Cake Pops

Intricate Icings is excited to offer our Winter Cake Pops class.  In this hands-on class you’ll spend 3 hours in their professional kitchen, learning tips on how to make the perfect cake pop.  Then let your inner artist shine as you decorate three different variations of cake pops. Even better, you will bring home a dozen of your creations to enjoy with family & friends (a $40 value). Classes take place on:

Class cost: $65 includes all supplies for class use & 12 decorated cake pops!

Students will be placed on a first come, first served basis.
