It’s #WeddingWednesday! This week, we’re talking about design beyond the blooms! We know you’ve been dreaming of your wedding florals since, well, let’s face it…forever. But did you ever think of the other décor and design elements that could take your affair from average to extravagant? Adding different décor elements such as textured lighting, pin spot lighting, chandeliers, floating candle packages, lounge sets, backdrops and fabric draping can transform the overall look and feel of your wedding into something exceptional.
One way brides and grooms are keeping it fresh is with creative seating arrangements and dinner service styles. How many times have you walked into a ballroom full of all roundtables, endlessly looking for your table number in a sea of banquet tables? Try mixing table shapes and textures (YES, TEXTURES)! Incorporate guest tables with different shapes, a variety of round tables with unique linens and wooden tables with benches! Changing up the geometric element of the tables will provide variety! Don’t be afraid to be different? If your guest count and room dimensions allow, do a double sided horseshoe shaped seating design and have your first dance during dinner right in the center! One step further? Ask your caterer about family style dining or action station dining where guests are encouraged to interact with one another! What else do we love to incorporate with our reception designs? Lounges! These sets provide a stylish and comfortable area where guests can relax and enjoy the event while still being a part of the reception.
This week, we turn our attention to our fantastic event designers at the Amora Group! This Denver-based event design firm specializes in custom events for all of their clients! Custom built dessert wall? No problem! Elegant lighting? You got it. This crew can transform any event space into the most elegant experience. But first, who are these talented individuals?!
“We specialize in event design that is both creative and innovative, layering our designs with decór, audio visual, and lighting. We strive to create a fun and productive atmosphere for our clients as well as our employees, drawing inspiration from our love of traveling all over the world and in our own backyard.”
The Amora Group recently collaborated with our friends at Total Imagination Events to create a one-of-a-kind design for an amazing couple! We’re still mesmerized with this over the top custom lounge vignette layered with textured lighting, teardrop chandeliers in a waterfall formation, and elegant backdrop accented with a floating candle package and floral décor from Emma Lea Floral!
What is pin-spot lighting? We’re so glad you asked! See how this tall floral display appears perfectly lighted despite the room? Pin spot lighting (or lighting of specific elements such as floral centerpieces, cakes or custom dessert tables) from above keeps the stunningly crafted décor element front and center while the room is dimmed to create ambiance!
Textured lighting as seen washing over this dance floor fills the otherwise empty space with romantic lighting and ambiance! And, it’s not just for the floors- textured lighting can be added to lounge sets, draping, or walls and brings an extra “joie de vivre” to your special day.
Come play with the folks at the Amora Group and allow them to create a custom décor package that will lift your wedding to new heights!
