Is it luck?

I found it interesting how many people wished me “good luck” on my wedding day, as if having a successful marriage is like winning the lottery. A famous golfer named Ben Hogan once said, “The more I practice, the luckier I get!” As with most things, having a successful relationship is not about luck at all, it’s simply the fruitful results of diligent practice.

Next week is the annual StudioWed Asheville industry party! This year the Aloft Hotel, located in downtown Asheville, is hosting the party.  We are so excited about this.  The party will be on top of the Aloft hotel by the pool, and overlooking downtown Asheville.  This modern chic Asheville hotel, is perfect for a Miami Vice themed party.  Don’t worry there will be many pictures taken.  Stay tuned!

Every year StudioWed partners with Weddings Unveiled to throw and awesome industry party! The StudioWed family gets together and puts on an amazing party for everyone in the Asheville wedding industry.  When over 100 Asheville wedding folks get together to finally have their own party… Trust me, it is a good time! From networking, to just having a drink with some friends, The StudioWed Asheville industry party is always one of my favorites.

This years party is coming up, July 28th, and it is themed (drum roll please)… Modern Miami Vice Shindig! Just to show you how wonderful these parties are,  check out these picture below of last years Garden Soiree party. Hmmm now what to wear for this years!?

Expectations have a lot to do with happiness, but research has shown that it is not crucial for couples to have the same expectations to be happy. Rather, it’s much more important to try to meet each other’s most important and realistic desires.

The four key factors to managing your expectations are:

1. Being aware of what you expect
2. Being reasonable about what you expect
3. Being clear about what you expect
4. Being motivated to meet your partner’s expectations, even when they are different from your own
