Asheville Bridal Shop :: Congratulations Wildflower Bridal!

Just wanted to take a quick second to say congratulations to Wildflower Bridal, an amazing Asheville bridal shop who has just celebrated their third year in business. We are so proud to have them as a part of our studio. If you haven’t visited their website, you should definitely go check it out! I think that the first line on their “about” page sums them up perfectly.

Not your average bridal shop. Not your average gowns. Not your average bride.

Love that so much!

3 years ago today, our little #ashevillebridalshop opened its doors for the first time ever. I can't believe what a fulfilling, empowering, joyous, exciting, wild ride its been so far! I always knew it would be, but dreaming the dream and #livingthedream are very different things! I'm so honored and grateful to be able to do what I do every day, and to have the support of such loving people in my life. Thank you everyone- brides, vendors, employees, contractors, designers, fellow bridal shop owners, industry hustlers and experts, friends, and family- for all the continued support encouragement, high fives and love with which you have showered me and #wildflowerbridal. Here's to many more years of #hustlingandbustling! #wildflowerbride #youngwildandthree #happyanniversary #happybirthday #bohobridalshop #bohobride #femaleownedandoperated #shopsmall #shoplocal #entrepreneur #thankfulandgrateful

Asheville Wedding Vendors :: Best of 2017

We are so proud of our Asheville wedding vendors! The 2016 Year in Review that the lovely Nicole shared with us focused on some of the amazing moments from 2016 that were not necessarily wedding related, but rather community related. But do not let that fool you into thinking that Studiowed Asheville wedding vendors were not involved in creating, producing, and capturing some seriously fantastic weddings during 2016.

We know that our Asheville wedding vendors are amazing, but it is always wonderful to have someone on the outside confirm that for us. Borrowed & Blue just recently came out with their Best of B&B 2017 awards.  Here is the blurb from their website explaining exactly what these awards are:

THE BEST OF B&B 2017 AWARDS ARE LIKE THE MICHELIN GUIDE FOR WEDDINGS, AND WE’VE GOT YOUR STARS RIGHT HERE. PUT ON YOUR SHADES―THESE WINNERS ARE PLENTY BRILLIANT.

A Best of B&B award is the equivalent of a Michelin star in the wedding world: it identifies only the most talented, well-respected vendors in all of Asheville. How do we know? The winners have been chosen by Asheville vendors themselves. It’s a royal feast of planning insight: know-how taken from those in the know.

So basically, these Asheville wedding vendors are kind of a big deal!

Here are the Studiowed Asheville wedding vendors who made B&B best of 2017 awards (there were three chosen for each category, just to explain any overlap you might see):

The Venue – best all around wedding venue in Asheville AND best venue for large weddings in Asheville

Homewood – best all around wedding venue in Asheville AND best venue for intimate weddings in Asheville

Grand Bohemian – best venue for intimate weddings in Asheville

ECE :: Asheville Wedding Band

Over the years we’ve spent in the wedding industry, we might have had the opportunity to see the occasional Asheville wedding band in action;)  Some were good, some were….not so good. Then we met the super talented people from East Coast Entertainment, and we fell in love. Because this wasn’t just an Asheville wedding band…this was actual entertainment!

We recently received and email letting us know that East Coast Entertainment has gone through a full image update, with a new name, logo, and website! The new look is so clean and modern, and the shortened name, ECE, is easy and memorable.

Doug Daniel, President and CEO sent out at email with this update, and we wanted to share with you his words about the new look:

As we’ve grown and grown up, at EastCoast Entertainment, we’ve always stayed true to what got us here…incredible talent, attention to detail, great customer service and a dedication to making every gig go smoothly.

The result has been countless performances and events that remain some of our clients’ most cherished memories. Providing these kinds of experiences have always been, and always will be, at the core of what we do. And we couldn’t do it without having great artists and great clients.

As we embark on our next 40 years, we are thrilled to reveal our new brand identity–including a new name, logo and redesigned website.

A more creative and modern logo better represents who we currently are and what we do, and the evolution of our name ensures people understand we can service almost any need anywhere across the country and even internationally, not just on the Eastern seaboard.  Effective immediately, EastCoast Entertainment will be calling ourselves “ECE.”

ECE is how we will refer to ourselves, although our legal name is still EastCoast Entertainment.

Over time we will drop “EastCoast Entertainment” as a tagline and replace it with one that is more descriptive of what we do, rather than who we are.

At ECE (see how easily that rolls off the tongue?) we couldn’t be more excited about these updates and hope you are inspired to book your next event with us. It will be the same legendary service and amazing, indelible experiences, just with a new name and logo.

We LOVE seeing brands evolve and transform, and we are super excited to see where ECE goes with this look in the future!

Best of StudioWed Asheville 2016!

It’s January! For wedding professionals, not only is this a time of planning and preparing for the amazing things to come in the upcoming year, it is also a time where we can finally take a moment to catch up from the previous seasons of wedding madness! I thought it would be fun to take a moment to reflect on some of the amazing things that happened at StudioWed Asheville in 2016.

I asked the lovely Nicole if she could think of a few top StudioWed Asheville moments from 2016, and I am super excited to share her Top 5 of 2016 with you! StudioWed Asheville is more than a group of people who work together; StudioWed Asheville is a family, and I think the biggest reason why we have such a wonderful family dynamic is because we work so hard at staying true to our culture.

StudioWed Asheville

The best part about the moments that Nicole chose to reflect on for 2016, is that each one of them represents our culture in a real and tangible way. It’s so inspiring to see the culture code in action. 2016 highlights cover a wide spectrum of activities. There were awesome parties, days dedicated to giving back to the community, and so many educational opportunities. It was a good year!

So without further ado, here are Nicole’s Top 5 of 2016!

#1

It’s no big secret that we love a good party.  Every year, we partner with Weddings Unveiled Magazine to host a party for our Asheville wedding friends.  This year the theme was Masquerade Ball, and with a theme like that, The Grand Bohemian Hotel was the perfect venue choice.  The party came together perfectly, and it was so nice to let loose and dance the night away!

As Asheville wedding vendors, we see each other often on wedding days. It’s wonderful to have a work environment filled with people that you love, but when most of your interactions are quick life updates while sharing a vendor meal or a 3 minute chat while walking in from your car, it leaves you wanting a little more. Our solution to this is Friendsgiving. We make time to sit down and have a lovely (non vendor) meal together. Finally, we can talk to our hearts’ content without worrying if we’re needed elsewhere! We had a blast this year at Off the Wagon Dueling Piano Bar. It was the perfect way to reconnect!

I love the way that the StudioWed Asheville family always makes giving back to our community a priority. Work (and life!) will never cease to be demanding, but it’s more than worth is to take a break from the grind, and focus on bettering someone else life for a bit. The resulting warm and fuzzies will motivate you for weeks! We spent a day preparing and serving food to men and women who have sacrificed so much for our country. It was wonderful to spend some time with our veterans and to try, in some small way, to thank them for their service.

Not sure if you heard…but there were crazy wildfires in the Asheville area this past fall. The gorgeous landscapes that we take for granted on a daily basis were burning away, and firefighters had to be flown in from all over the country to help stop them.We asked…and the community delivered! From fellow wedding industry professionals, to past clients…even complete strangers! You brought hundreds of bottles of water,  thousands of wet wipes, and a plethora of other much needed items.

I love how Nicole encapsulated it:

“Heart = Full.”

This year, Nicole and Ian were asked to speak at Reverie Retreats in Arizona. Nicole summed it up by saying, ” Nothing warms our heart more than to see our StudioWed Culture at work, here in Asheville and in our other locations. So when Ian and I were asked to speak about culture, we knew this is something that we wanted to help other small business owners with!”

I think it’s amazing that Nicole and Ian had the opportunity to share this topic that is so dear to their hearts and so integral to the success of their businesses. Plus, I heard that there were mimosas!! The StudioWed Asheville family is very proud!

2016 was pretty amazing, but I have a feeling that 2017 might be even better! Can’t wait to see where this year takes us!
