Every year we team up with Weddings Unveiled Magazine and invite the entire Asheville wedding community to get together and party (oh and also network too).  It is a great way for us all to let loose, for once throw ourselves a party, and catch up with the wedding industry.  It is truly always a blast and all wedding pros are invited!

This year the theme was Masquerade Ball at the Grand Bohemian Hotel.  Which is the perfect venue for this theme.  The Grand Bohemian Hotel has an amazing ballroom.  The chandeliers are stunning and the StudioWed Asheville team did not disappoint with throwing this party! More and more we hear that brides are turning to Instagram, over any other social media platform, to help pick and learn more about their wedding vendors.  Are we a fan of this!? I would say yes! We highly recommend checking out your vendor’s Instagram account to get a feel for the work that they do, and who they are.  Instagram is becoming crucial in the wedding industry so why not use it for your advantage. Also, we all know how much we love those wedding hashtags! Because of this it makes it easier for you to explore, and check out even more footage (maybe even some behind the scenes shots) of what your vendors have been up to! They want you to follow along!

The other plus, is Instagram is very current.  Unlike waiting for a blog post to go live, Instagram is happening at the moment.  Which is great because you get to see, in the moment, what your vendors have been working on this season.

According to Wedding Wire in 2015 “61% of couples ‘follow’ or ‘like’ a vendor’s page so that they can see the quality of their work.”

I LOVE picking at the StudioWed Asheville wedding planners brains and finding out what is trending in the wedding industry this season!  Every season there are new trends that are becoming popular, and there are definitely ones that need to go! However, lets not focus on the negatives and instead focus on the new and improved wedding trends of 2016!

We reached out to our friends over at Verge Events to find out what they are loving currently! Sarah, one of Verge Events wedding designers, chimed in with some great new wedding trends that are oh so trendy currently! Enjoy and happy planning!

1) Acrylic – we’re moving away from the rustic and onto modern! Acrylic chairs are very popular right now. Also acrylic signage, we looooooove this trend, it’s different and sleek and clean. Everything looks like it’s floating.
