Colorful Palate is truly loved by so many of our StudioWed Asheville brides.  They are truly one of the best wedding caterers located in Asheville NC.  From there AMAZING pimento cheese, to delicious sliders, to fresh raw oyster, Colorful Palate will help you create the best menu that you could possible dream of for you wedding.  Another thing that they are known for is creating a beautiful spread.  Instead of just placing the food down on a table they go all out.  From different levels, to taking into consideration of your decor, this is an extra bonus that they will do for you!

All that being said we reached out to the Colorful Palate team and ask them to share some of their delicious recipes with us! On the blog today is Colorful Palate’s recipe for herb marinated cheese.  I mean who doesn’t love cheese!

Herb Marinated Cheese

2 lbs. Cheese (cheddar, havarti)
1/2 cup White Wine Vinegar
1/4 cup Lime Juice or Lemon Juice
1 bunch Parsley
1 bunch Cilantro or any other favorite herb
1 bunch Green Onion, chopped
1 Roasted Red Pepper, peeled and julienned
1 tsp. Sugar Salt and Pepper to taste
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Combine vinegar, lime juice, parsley, cilantro, green onion, red pepper, sugar, salt and pepper. Slowly add oil and whisk until combined. Pour mixture over cheese and marinate for at least 2 hours. The longer the cheese marinates the better it tastes! You can prepare this up to 2 days in advance. Serve with crackers or bread.

If you haven’t heard already Asheville NC is known for its breweries.  Many say we are the number one town in USA for breweries and beer drinking.  From big breweries like Highland Brewery, to small boutique ones like Burial Beer. we have all types of varieties.  Trust me they are all good! That being said, if the crowd attending your wedding are the beer drinking crowd, then take advantage of this!  Some great options on how you can incorporate these breweries into your Asheville wedding is by having your rehearsal dinner at one, suggest it as a fun activity for your guest to enjoy, or maybe even just include a bottle of your favorite brew in their welcome bag.  The options are endless!  Our friends over at Asheville Beverage, can for sure help you out with outsourcing beer for your wedding, or even get a keg from one of these awesome breweries.  They know whats up, and are always happy to help you with all your alcohol options for your Asheville NC wedding.  Cheers!

It is always so interesting watching wedding trends come and go year by year.  Many of our Asheville wedding vendors have been in this industry for an extremely long time, and they can probably point out some interesting trends that they witnessed at one point in time.  One trend that does stay pretty constant but does switch it up every so often are first dance songs/wedding music.  There are some classics that will probably never go out of style.  Ending your night to “Shout” is a perfect example of one. You can ask our East Coast Entertainment rep or chat with Mr. C’s Mobile Disc Jockey.  They will be able to point out the classics that will get everyone dancing, to the new popular favorites!  Curious to know what the  popular ceremony music? Aaron Imaging, an amazing StudioWed Asheville photography, recently posted a preview of a beautiful wedding that took place at Castle Ladyhawke.  There were some StudioWed Asheville wedding vendors who participated in this wedding that we wanted to give a shout out to.  Blush Asheville and Hughes Hair Designs beautified the bridal party before the wedding ceremony.  The Colorful Palate filled the happy guest bellies with some yummy food during the reception!
