This past week Asheville got a few inches of snow. People were complaining about the cold, the roads (I admit I did too!) and winter in general but as I watched the snow fall, mesmerized by it’s gentle drifting from above, I thought about how pretty a snowy winter wedding would be. The soft, pillowy snow seems a perfect fit for a lovely wedding. It makes everything look so pure and pristine. And you can get some killer images in the snow!

What is more touching than the bride and groom’s first dance? It is such a sweet moment to see the new couple dancing cheek to cheek. We still get teary-eyed seeing our couples dancing their first dance! We have seen a slew of songs used, from oldies but goodies to the latest and greatest. Sometimes this can be a difficult process for the couple to actually choose what they are going to dance to. Our advice, choose a song that means something to you, not to anyone else. It should be your song! Aspen Wedding Guide has a really great top 10 1st dance songs to help you if you need a little inspiration.

Now we know not everyone is into the traditional sappy first dance and we know there have been a ton of choreographed first dances but let’s face it, guests love it! A choreographed 1st dance always gets the crowd going and makes for quite the memorable moment. We have been loving this Dirty Dancing recreation! I keep imagining how cool this would be at Lake Lure (one of the filming locations for the Dirty Dancing movie). Check out this footwork!
