Studio Flora Diva : Amazing Asheville Florist!

We absolutely had to share this post all about precious Beth of Studio Flora Diva! Get to know this amazing Asheville florist. Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out her work!

“I’m Beth, the diva behind Studio Flora Diva and I’ve been working in floral design since 1983. I’m an eclectic sort of gal.

I love helping my daughter with the horses and chores at her farm, and enjoy working in our organic vegetable garden all summer. The wreath on my front door is made out of dried okra and decorative corn from this year’s harvest. I love being outdoors, and spending time in nature inspires me and helps me restore my creativity. I’m all about no-tech time.

I have an accredited membership in AIFD, which is extremely selective and can be obtained only after a candidate has effectively demonstrated advanced professional ability of his or her floral artistry.

We must continue to demonstrate cutting edge art by meeting specified continuing education requirements. I moved to Asheville in 1992 from a small town in Western New York and knew Asheville before it became the big tourist attraction that it is today.

I love all things artsy and usually have some project in the works. Right now I’m working on a concept for a photo shoot for next year.”

See! We told you it was a good read!

Thanks for stopping by our blog, today! Leave us a comment with your feedback! We would love to get some feedback from readers like yourself.

Asheville Henna :: Henna for Houston

One of the things we love the most about our StudioWed Asheville wedding vendors is their willingness and drive to give back to the community. This past weekend, Julie with Asheville Henna took her artistry to Woolworth Walk, and spent the afternoon creating beautiful henna creations to raise money for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and their search and rescue efforts for the animals affected by the hurricane.

The work that she did was absolutely beautiful, and she was able to raise both money and awareness to aid in the efforts in Houston! asheville-henna-001   asheville-henna- asheville-henna-001 asheville-henna-001 If you are looking for an Asheville henna artist for your wedding day, you should go ahead and stop looking :) Julie is not only talented, but she’s also an awesome person. Take a moment to visit her website for details on how to schedule an appointment! And if you need proof that she’s a master… check out this gorgeous image from her Instagram.

7.5 hours and 8 elephants? We’re impressed :)

Asheville Dance Studio :: I Do Dances

Part of planning your wedding includes making decisions about music…and even more specifically, includes choosing a first dance. I Do Dances is an amazing Asheville dance studio who will work with you to create a personalized choreographed first dance for you and your guests to enjoy on your wedding day.

We love this description of the first dance tradition from their website:

The First Dance celebrates and symbolizes the beginning of your new life together. What a perfect opportunity to turn what could potentially be an awkward, uncomfortable moment in to an outrageously fun bonding experience that you and your guests will be talking about for years.

No matter what kind of dance you’re looking for—swanky and smooth or funky and offbeat—we’ll make sure you’re looking good.

You feel comfortable with your dancing ability? Great, we’ll show it off! Your knees knock together with the thought of dancing in public AND you have no experience? Not a problem. We know the secret to tapping the treasure of your undiscovered dance talent. It WILL reveal itself.

Our only non-negotiable rule is that you have FUN! Planning a wedding can be stressful enough. Consider this your play time!

And the process of creating a choreographed first dance with I Do Dances is super simple!

1. Choose your music.

2. Meet with Kathleen so she can learn a little bit about you two and what you want out of your dance.

3. Kathleen will choreograph your personalized dance.

4. Meet again to teach you the dance and make a video of you dancing for use in your future rehearsals.

5. You rehearse whenever you get stressed out (remember, dance is a stress reliever) or want to have fun.

6. You dance yourself married!

Seems like a no brainer to us!

Asheville Wedding Photographer :: Sunday Grant

Spring is in full force here in Asheville, and this weekend looks to be a preview of things to come this summer with temperatures in the 80’s (already! It’s not even May yet!)…so of course, we’re already dreaming of fall. We were looking back through Asheville wedding photographer Sunday Grant’s Instagram page, and these gorgeous images from last fall made us long for those crisp evenings and gorgeous colors!
