Daily Dress: Vera Wang

Vera Wang is the undisputed master when it comes to sophisticated volume. I love how the drama builds up from top-to-bottom with this dress from her Spring 2011 line.

Something Old Something New Recap: Presidential House

I’m fairly young and haven’t had the opportunity to do a whole lot of traveling, so when I found out that the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation booked the $4,100/night Presidential House for our StudioWed team to stay in for the weekend, I was super pumped. After all, rumor has it that Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher stayed in the Presidential House during their wedding festivities. It would be my first stay in a Ritz-Carlton, not to mention that this house boasts two king bedrooms and two double bedrooms, all with their own differently-styled bathrooms and balconies. It also has an awesome kitchen, a huge basement, porches, and a pool, all overlooking the beautiful Lake Oconee.

Can you tell I miss this place yet?

Janet Howard did a most excellent job of capturing the Presidential House at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge when they hosted us and our weekend guests for a brunch. I almost miss the over-the-top delicious food as much as I miss the comfortable beds and bathtubs perfect for bubble baths!

I love the curved staircase.

Yes, I enjoyed this claw foot tub on our first night in the Presidential House…

…and proceeded to enjoy this Jacuzzi tub on our third night. What can I say, I love my baths.

These next two are of the basement (Scoobie West made this his Man Cave for the weekend).

And now for the brunch. The Ritz totally spoiled us with food all weekend, and this brunch spread definitely got us ready for the bridal show.

We had a jazz duo in the foyer to welcome guests.

Not pictured is French toast, mushroom ravioli, bagels and pastries, mimosas, spring salads, and more. I’m feeling full just thinking about it.

There’s more to come! I’ve got tons of Something Old Something New event pictures to share from the tablescapes, Saturday activities (s’mores & s’more-tinis! DIY inspiration boards!), and more. Can’t wait!

Daily Dress: Forever 21 w/ Accessories

When dressing yourself for multiple bridal events, you need inexpensive options that can transition from event to event. The dress, with its subtle tonal stripes, petite glitter dots, and a satin bow waistband, is by Forever 21 ($22.80). I love tone-on-tone looks for added chicness, so I chose Chamak by Priya Kakkar black, silver, and white bangles ($29 for a set of six), a sparkly silver Carlo Fellini clutch ($56), and sweet patent leather Mary Janes from Bordello by Pleaser ($50). I love the hint of vintage style from the dress silhouette, Mary Janes, and clutch.

As always, let me know what you think of today’s Forever 21 dress and accessories look!

Daily Dress: Free People

I love this dress by Free People for a bridal tea or shower for several reasons. 1) it’s so beautifully feminine without being pink and/or too ruffle-y, 2) it would look great in the summer with strappy sandals or in the winter with tights and a little cardigan, and 3) it’s perfectly named for a bride: Oh, Loverboy!
