This is one of my favorite dresses I’ve seen in a while, and it comes from the very talented Johnna Ho. I love dresses with an unexpected twist, and the dye cut circles on the bottom of the dress give it that interesting detail. I also like that the sheath is cinched at the natural waist to create more shape.

My first fashion love? Lace. My grandmother was a seamstress, and she always had beautiful lace that I would drape practically everything in–me, random furniture, the dog–whatever I could get my hands on. That’s exactly what this beautiful “Carson” dress by Modern Trousseau reminds me of. I love the sweetheart neckline, the slight mermaid silhouette, and beige silk sash.

I love it when brides are daring enough to change into a short dress for their reception or, better yet, for the ceremony, too. This short wedding dress from Casa Blanca’s Spring 2011 Collection is extra fabulous with its satin bodice, silk organza band, and beaded lace overlay skirt. Hand-sewn flowers and feathers complete the party-ready skirt.
