Dress Du Jour: Shrug It Off

Shrugs are making a fashion comeback and the world of wedding gowns is no exception. We’ve seen them in so many styles in fashion shows from lace to tulle and even feathers! This week we found a fabulous dress that fits the trend, but still have timeless beauty.

Alvina Valenta, Style AV9200 – This gorgeous silk satin organza mermaid gown hugs you in all the right places. The gown is asymmetrically draped with a strapless bodice. The shrug is removable, but adds beautiful detail that isn’t overbearing. The ruffles of the shrug add elegance to the softly tucked detail and the bottom of the dress, while tuxedo buttons down the back add another facet of interest. Dress Du Jour: A Springtime Dress for a Springtime Wedding

Springtime is almost upon us and all of the colorful flowers will soon be peeking their heads out from the grass. Orchids, daffodils, lilies and of course, tulips! And we just happened to find a dress that fits that springtime feel.

Rivini Tulipe – This floor length organza taffeta gown from Rivini’s Spring 2010 collection has a dropped waist and a chapel length train. Dress Du Jour: Taking Lunar Cues

In our last dress du jour post we took a trip to Italy and this week we’re going to the moon! How, you ask? With one of Jenny Packham’s designs from her newest Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Jenny Packham Luna – This London based designer has made big headlines for her modern, new age designs that are out of this world. She manages to make couture wearable for any bride with an eclectic style.

The design for the Luna gown is form fitting with intricate details and beading and a flattering silhouette. If you’re looking for something vintage inspired that still makes a statement, here it is!
