Daily Dress: Modern Trousseau

Photo via One Wed

My first fashion love? Lace. My grandmother was a seamstress, and she always had beautiful lace that I would drape practically everything in–me, random furniture, the dog–whatever I could get my hands on. That’s exactly what this beautiful “Carson” dress by Modern Trousseau reminds me of. I love the sweetheart neckline, the slight mermaid silhouette, and beige silk sash.

Daily Dress: Casa Blanca Bridal

I love it when brides are daring enough to change into a short dress for their reception or, better yet, for the ceremony, too. This short wedding dress from Casa Blanca’s Spring 2011 Collection is extra fabulous with its satin bodice, silk organza band, and beaded lace overlay skirt. Hand-sewn flowers and feathers complete the party-ready skirt.

Daily Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs Complete Look

I’m seriously loving doing complete looks for the Daily Dress. Today I had a specific look in mind featuring a grey cocktail dress, but I could not find one I liked at all. Then I stumbled upon this black, ruffled Marc by Marc Jacobs dress with all over grey and red print, and I was smitten.

I wanted to pick up the grey and red notes on the dress, so I paired it with red, pleated suede heels from Jessica Simpson, grey tights from ModCloth, and the silver-and-black “Ice Queen” statement necklace from Kate Spade. And since it’s gotten so chilly in Atlanta, I picked out one of my favorite coats of the season: a grey, military-inspired wool short coat from French Connection.

Daily Dress: Alvina Valenta

I’m usually not a fan of halter wedding gowns (for a totally selfish reason–they don’t look that great on me), but I find a huge exception in this Alvina Valenta gown for JLM Couture. I love how the detail from the bodice is repeated along the hem. It accentuates the beautiful trumpet silhouette even more.
