Winter Wedding Inspiration: Light Blue, Silver, & White

You don’t have to go overboard with stereotypical winter items when planning a winter wedding. I used the inspiration of snow shimmering in the sunlight (something we don’t see too often here in Atlanta) for this light blue, silver, and white wedding inspiration board. I brought in lots of sparkle (think glittery heels and DVF wrap dress, vintage-inspired bow brooch, and sparkling snowflake ring) with vintage flair via a Georgian-style bracelet, a decorative mirror from Z Gallerie, and a feminine cameo brooch.

When designing an inspiration board, look outside of the typical wedding magazines. Pull items that you’re drawn to, and pretty soon, you’ll start to see your personal style develop as a trend among the photos. Sites like Polyvore, which I used for this board, are great for inspiration with their galleries of furniture, makeup, clothes, jewelry, and more.

So let me know–what’s your favorite winter wedding color scheme?

Summer Wedding Inspiration

Here’s another post for Summer 2011 brides, summer color enthusiasts, or bright color lovers. It’s our second Summer Inspiration board using the Style Me Pretty blog for our Inspiration-Board-Week series.

This week, I chose a color palette that would work well with lots of our classic Atlanta ballrooms. Summer is HOT in Atlanta, so ballrooms and indoor spaces are a great alternative to outdoor receptions. Many of the ballrooms have spaces for outdoor ceremonies or cocktail hours, so I thought of a color combination that worked well for bringing the outdoors inside: a sky blue, a bright pineapple yellow, and a light purple for pops of color in flowers, patterns, and jewelry.

I love the pattern on the plate and how it is replicated on the cake. The juxtaposition of that scrolling pattern next to the clean lines of the vases would work well in modernizing a ballroom space.

This jewelry from Etsy would also complement the color scheme and make any bride or bridesmaid stunning!

Summer Wedding Inspiration

I’ve met so many Summer 2011 brides lately! This year is really flying by, and those newly engaged ladies will be getting married before we know it. So in that spirit, we will be showcasing an “Inspiration-Board-a-Week” series to give those brides just kicking off their planning process a place to start.

I used the Style Me Pretty wedding blog (it’s a must-see for brides, vendors, and wedding lovers alike!) to make this inspiration board of lemon-y yellow and spearmint with pops of oranges. To me, no other color combination defines summer like this one. I picture the wedding taking place in a field and serving lots of lemonade (or maybe a Frosted Orange for an Atlanta twist!) and featuring organic citrus-and-flower centerpieces on long, rustic tables.

Yellow, green, and orange remind me of lemonade, freshly cut grass, and summer sunsets. What’s your favorite summer color combo? Share your own inspiration board and why it’s the ultimate summer color combination in the comments section! Be on the lookout for next week’s summer inspiration board for an ultra-chic ballroom wedding.
