Express appreciation and gratitude.

When I give someone a dollar on the street, all I want in return is a simple thank you. When I let another driver into my lane, it’s nice to get a little wave. Likewise, in relationships simple gestures of appreciation go a long way. It’s easy to start taking your partner for granted, but unconsciously we all want a little recognition for our efforts. Telling your partner “Thank you for listening” or “Thanks for doing the dishes” doesn’t take much effort, but it can reinforce your bond in a profound way.
