Honeymoon Friday: Hawaii

Starting this weekly honeymoon feature has to be simultaneously one of the best and worst decisions I made! I love looking at all of the gorgeous resorts, but I hate how much it makes me want to go on vacation!

LT Travel Connection really gave me trip envy with this week’s special deal that they sent to me. The Ritz-Carlton Resort in Kapalua, Hawaii, is offering the fifth night free and $500 in hotel credit! The package also includes a Hertz car rental and all resort fees and taxes. Just look at the breathtaking scenery and resort!

This week’s Honeymoon Friday post also kicks off a series-within-a-series! Over the next few weeks, for the “tip” portion of Travel Tips and Deals, we’ll go over the top honeymoon destinations by area.

Starting off this miniseries is the United States. Right now, top honeymoon destinations in the US are Alaska; Cape Cod, MA; Gatlinburg, TN; Hawaii, Las Vegas, Miami, and Napa Valley. Each location has definite peak and off seasons and activities. Which one of these locations would you and your new spouse like the best?

Many thanks again to LT Travel Connection for keeping us in-the-know. Check out our past Honeymoon Friday posts on the old blog here, here, and here.

StudioWed Vendors + Bride's Tea

StudioWed vendor Eli Silva Photography has recently launched a cultural wedding podcast called Bride’s Tea. Eli Silva Photography specializes in cultural and multi-ethnic weddings, so it is no surprise that this awesome new podcast features weddings inspired by culture, season, and color.

StudioWed vendors have teamed up with Eli Silva Photography + Bride’s Tea to officially show their first podcast at the International Bridal Affair on July 11. The vendors will collaborate on three different looks based on culture, season, and color.

We can’t wait to showcase the designs that our talented team of vendors have put together! Visit Bride’s Tea and the International Bridal Affair website for more information on the podcast and on the show. Thanks to Eli Silva Photography for asking us to be a part of this fun event.

Studio Spotlight: I Do Linens

Our new blog has been in the works for quite a while now, so I’ve had some serious time to create lots of new features to share with our readers. One of my favorite features that we’ve come up with is the Studio Spotlight, where we will feature a StudioWed vendor and ask them questions about their business and about themselves!

Our first Studio Spotlight will feature custom linen designer I Do Linens. This company started in Atlanta when Tamara Gollob, the owner, and her family relocated here from Canada. She saw a void in the linen market and wanted to provide a service that Atlanta had long been missing out on.

Q: Why did you join StudioWed?

Tamara: I joined StudioWed because I loved the concept of multiple vendors in one spot. Having a great space to meet with a client and network with amazing vendors has been a great success for our company.

Q: How did you your start in weddings?

Tamara: Having studied fashion design and having a passion for fabrics, my business career started with a custom couture wedding gowns. That grew into a wedding décor businesses and bringing elements of fashion into weddings. Now I use elements of fashion in designing table linens.

Q: What do you love about working with brides and in the wedding industry?

Tamara: I love the excitement of the day, combining all of the couple’s wishes and desires and creating a final vision they only could dream of. It is their one big day, and I love being part of making it the most special.

Q: What is your best advice for the wedding day?

Tamara: Make sure your wedding represents you and your taste and style.

Q: How would you explain to a potential client why custom linens are important?

Tamara: Linens are a great way to transform a room. Picking a palette and theme really completes the day and makes it your own. When guests enter the reception room, they should be saying “this is so much like the bride and groom,” not “doesn’t this look just like so and so’s wedding.” With the use of linens you put your stamp on your special day.

Q: Who is your dream concert line-up?

Tamara: Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Michael Buble.

Q: If you could renew your vows today, what your theme be?

Tamara: Our dream is to renew our vows in Hawaii on the beach. Casual romance.

Q: If you could have dinner with one person, who would it be and what would you eat?

Tamara: Preston Bailey, but I’m not sure I could eat (would be too nervous). I would probably eat a chicken dish or eggplant parm, my fave.

Q: How would you spend your perfect Saturday?

Tamara: Hanging with my family. A great day starts with breakfast at a little café, followed with a bit of shopping. Head to a picnic in the park, go for a bike ride and then off to a casual dinner and a movie.

Check out more of Tamara’s work at I Do Linen’s website. Her specialty linens can also be found throughout StudioWed, so stop by to see them in person! Make sure you check back every week for our next Studio Spotlight vendor!
