Venue Tour TidBits

We have so much to share from this awesome trip around the city. Thank you Melissa Prosser Photography for some incredible shots of all the fun!

Vinewood

A sweet and truly southern spot down in Newnan, GA served up a decked out bloody mary bar with all the spicy fixings. Once you had your tomato juice fix, there were sugary, sparkly mimosas and a little spice cake provided by our own Sweet Sensations.

Swan House/Atlanta History Center

One of Atlanta’s most grand and glamorous venues, brides were shown the grounds of the Swan House and the History Center’s ballroom while sampling an ‘adult’ sweet tea (thanks to Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka) and lemonade. They munched on hors d’oeuvres of pulled sassy pork bbq sandwiches and gifted with packaged gardenias that smelled fantastic.

Cator Woolford Gardens

Brides got to see both the beautiful outdoor gardens, and the indoor wall-to-wall windowed event space at Cator Woolford Gardens. Every lucky lady and her guest was provided with a different summer punch and treat, like the chocolate dipped biscotti, chocolate mousse shooters and the rich and creamy goat cheese tartlets. Icing on the cake? Everyone received gift cards to Lotus Fitness for a free consultation to get their bridal body in gear!

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

Everyone took their springtime stroll through each of the gardens and event spaces. As an extra treat, we were able to witness a live set up for a real wedding scheduled in the garden that night. We indulged in wine and prosecco complemented by finger sandwiches and sweet treats.

And the recap begins…

Hellooooo Readers! I am home! Back in the studio and ready to spill the deets of my big day with anyone who is willing to listen. Images are in the works, so this is just a typography teaser, but couldn’t wait to get back in touch with all of you!

My first thought since being back? Is it really all over? And, What the heck do I do now?

The obsessing, the worrying, the sleepless nights, the nail biting… Just kidding. I have to say that my engagement journey was one for the books. Yes, I can’t deny a few bouts with tears, but with the dream team of creative geniuses and problem solvers I had with me, looking back it was a piece of cake! And a whole lot of fun.

Here are the highlights…

Event Drapery manifested a show-stopping drape spanning the width of the “ballroom” in the gallery. I have never seen it anywhere else, and no one could stop talking about it!

Foglio Press pulled through with elegant day-of stationery, from delicately assembled programs to a positively vintage candy bar sign.

The Savage Garden and I Do Linens (CHAMPS!) created what (in my oh so modest opinion) the most beautiful group of tables I have EVER seen in my life. I even had a friend inspired to take the ideas into her own home!

Endive delivered (as usual) some of the best wedding food that exists out there. Anyone I’ve talked to since we got back has said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had!

Livin’ Large, I have an announcement to make… You may have a new groupie on the way. Your Beatles covers were perfect and you kept everyone on their feet and smiling. I can’t wait to see some of the moves caught on film.

Shutterbooth, you gave me a platform to see a whole new side of some of our friends. The memory book will NEVER leave our coffee table!

For Goodness Cakes, although I only got one bite of my cake, it was hands-down a highlight to the evening. Rich, delicious, moist and decadent. I can’t wait to order more cakes from you… I may not even justify it with an occasion.

Obviously, Settee created such a nice point for people to ooh and ahh over with the rustic farm tables, giving the elegant room a hint of character.

And I am sure it goes without saying, but I am going to shout it from the rooftops, Lemiga Events is an absolute dream. I never worried about ONE thing on my wedding day. She brought me peace of mind to have the best night of my life… and even brought me to tears with how it all came together. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about the experience with her… and not for one second to I hesitate in admitting I was thankful to have hired a wedding planner.

Now, readers, you’re saying, BUT WHEN CAN WE SEE IT? I will have your coverage very soon and probably won’t be able to stop sharing it. So, sit tight, check out the sneak peeks on Facebook and Twitter and get ready to covet the StudioWed wedding of year (so modest)!!

P.S. WE WENT TO ANTIGUA!!!

Va-Va-Va Venues!

For several brides-to-be, this special event with StudioWed proved a fairytale tour through Atlanta’s most charming wedding venues. From a bit of historically-inspired matrimony at The Swan House and Atlanta History Center, to breath-taking blooms and fresh-air frolicking at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens and Cator Woolford Gardens. Not to be left out, the south side of the city showed off its splendor with the country-chic Vinewood. Brides were chauffeured aboard one of Cooper Atlanta’s posh limousines from place to place, showered with gifts from each venue and invited to indulge in cocktails and lip-smacking light bites. Spirits were high and stress was low during this day of fun – here is a sneak peek of some of the good times below, courtesy of our own, D&R Films!

Wednesday Walk Through the Garden

Ahhh, springtime. Bright bursts of color dotting the lawn, lush green grass sparkling with sunshine and warm breezes blowing away the winter woes… Oh, and the pollen :) Lucky for us Georgia dwellers, this all-time high of yellow powder means an early start to spring and a cleaner atmosphere come wedding season!

It also means the best year ever to have an outdoor wedding. Our own Cator Woolford Gardens offers a tucked-away celebration surrounded by lush landscape and delicately pruned flora that just about seals the deal with a tented dance floor and an au naturale photo backdrop.

Want a closer look? Cator Woolford Gardens is one of the featured spots on our tour across the city at the Southern Charms Venue Tours on April 1st. A full day of a chauffeured view of the city, cocktails in hand (and declioius light bites in the other), private tours and insight are just the beginning to a day that ends with the venue of your dreams signed, sealed and BOOKED!
