Royal Icing Custom Cakes Engagement Story Contest Winner!
Back in February, we announced the Engagement Story contest presented by Royal Icing Custom Cakes, and today we are so excited to congratulate our winners, Cheyenne and  Brandon! Read their sweet, cake-winning engagement story here:
Brandon and I had been dating for almost a year, though we have known each other since high school. The first weekend in November, we flew down to Dallas, TX, because I was Maid of Honor in my best friend’s wedding. Not only was this a big deal to me because it was my BEST friend’s wedding, but also because I am a wedding photographer and love EVERYTHING about weddings, and yet it was the first wedding I have ever been in. So yes, I was super excited! The wedding was gorgeous, and the reception was a blast. When it came time for the bouquet toss, I got right there in the middle of it! At every wedding I shoot, I wish I was out there snatching up that bouquet, and this was my chance… So she tossed it up, and I jumped up as high as I could, and came down with it! I was so excited, and little did I know, pretty much everyone at the wedding knew my boyfriend was going to be proposing to me the next day…
The next evening we had plans to go to dinner in Dallas. Brandon had asked my best friend and his best friend (who happened to move to Dallas a few years ago), to all come out to dinner with us. I told my bestie that it was ok if she didn’t come out, considering she was leaving for her honeymoon at 3am the next morning, but she said she was definitely going to be there. After we ate, we asked the server to take a picture of all of us at the table, and then Brandon asked for just a picture of me and him… As I got up to stand next to him, he got down on one knee, in front of both of our best friends, and asked me to marry him :) I cried, and of course said YES! Definitely a fun and exciting weekend, and a GREAT proposal!

We wish the very best for Cheyenne and Brandon! Congratulations y’all – can’t wait to see the beautiful cake!
